Few ways to detect that Raspberry Pi is under voltage

1. Diagnostics message

Consider this logging of some activities that Linux operating system perform silently in background. One of these activity we are interested in is when Linux OS detect under voltage. You can access these messages using

dmesg

If you see the “Under-voltage detected!” message in the logs, as you can see the screenshot, you know you have events where the OS was low on voltage. If interested then you can find out the exact time when a event occur by using dmesg -T command.

2. vgencmd

sudo /opt/vc/bin/vcgencmd get_throttled

Under voltage:  0x50000
